The burritos are here, and the chicken sandwiches are next.

Empire Place, a premier retail location on West 41st Street brokered by Lloyd Companies, welcomed Chipotle Mexican Grill at the end of 2020 and has Chick-fil-A beginning construction.

Both restaurants are new to the Sioux Falls market and are among consumers’ most requested retailers.

“We anticipated the opening of Chipotle would draw a very strong response from customers, but it’s exceeded expectations,” said Raquel Blount, who represents the property. “They’re extremely happy with the level of sales and traffic they have on a daily basis. The location is doing even better for them than we thought, which bodes extremely well for other retailers opening at Empire Place.”

Chick-fil-A will start construction this month and plans to open by this fall. Chase Bank also is under construction with a planned 2021 opening.

The two multi-tenant retail center buildings are underway as well. Tenants include Crumbl Cookies, The Good Feet Store and Verizon Wireless.

“We have space remaining at Empire Place but continue to experience strong interest with multiple new deals in progress and site visits starting to occur,” Blount said.
