With Recent Additions, Dawley Farm Village Down To Last Remaining Land
Weeks into its opening, the newest addition at Dawley Farm Village is satisfying the appetite of lots of guests.
“It’s going great,” said Reyes Aranda, owner of La Cantina, which opened in a retail center at Dawley Farm Village in August.
“We’re super busy.”
La Cantina, a second location for a Mexican restaurant for Aranda in Sioux Falls, offers Dawley diners a huge menu of Mexican favorites and specialities, along with a full liquor license and plenty of handcrafted margaritas.
Arana, who owns 14 Mexican eateries in four states, is impressed by what he’s seen a Dawley Farms.
“We’ve been very happy with it,” he said.
The success of La Cantina illustrates the momentum Dawley Farm Village is experiencing.
The development draws an estimated 7.3 million visitors annually and has been on a steady growth trajectory in recent years.
“We are getting down to our final options for land at Dawley Farms,” said Raquel Blount, vice president of commercial real estate at Lloyd Companies, who represents the development.
“We have three lots of an acre or less, and one that’s seven acres with an option to subdivide, so there are some good opportunities to be part of the development and feed of the new employment in the area. We see it as a fit for everything from retail to a hotel, corporate office or site-down restaurants.”
The state of South Dakota’s One Stop office complex is expected to bring hundreds of workers daily to the development when it opens next year.
That’s in addition to the large Avera Medical Group clinic, major employees such as Capital Card Services and DGR Engineering, and an explosion of residential growth in the area.
“We see opportunities for adding quick-service food options to serve the development and support the several thousand employees coming to Dawley every day,” Blount said. “We also have a great mix of medical uses — an eye clinic, dental clinic and chiropractic office, for example — so we see additional opportunities for personal services as well.”
There’s also ready-to-go office space plus options for custom build-outs at The Carlton at Dawley, the mixed-use property in the center of the development that includes luxury apartments. To learn more, click here.
Back at La Cantina, Aranda still has more to do. He’ll eventually add some daily specials and other promotions, and he’s looking ahead to next spring when he plans to add a patio.
It will seat about 50 guests, with two fireplaces and a TV.
“It’ll look nice,” he said. “We’re getting it done.”
