Construction

A signature project in the Black Hills for Lloyd Construction has earned statewide recognition.

The Associated General Contractors, or AGC of South Dakota, named the mixed-use Block5 development in downtown Rapid City as an annual award winner at its state convention. The event was held at another Lloyd property – The Canopy by Hilton in downtown Sioux Falls.

The 10-story development includes more than 130 loft apartments, a 117-room Hyatt Place hotel, first-floor retailers and a 330-stall parking ramp.

“We’re very proud to have brought Block5 to the Black Hills region and are honored that the AGC recognized our work,” said Mike Dill, executive vice president of Lloyd Construction. “The community has embraced this development and we consider a testament to the quality of work we’re committed to doing across all our projects.”

Each of its annual award winners can choose a charity to receive a $500 contribution. Lloyd Construction selected Club for Boys, anon-profit organization that provides teen and youth activities and programs that help boys achieve their full potential.
