Fleet Farm Opens First South Dakota Store

Lloyd Companies is excited to welcome Fleet Farm to Sioux Falls, as Lloyd Construction has finished work on a flagship store for the fast-growing retailer.

Fleet Farm opens this week at the Sanford Sports Complex. Lloyd’s development and commercial real estate team helped bring the retailer to the site, and the construction team took it from there.

“This is a brand-new prototype store for Fleet Farm, and we were honored to help develop and build it,” Lloyd executive vice president of development Jake Quasney said. “Fleet Farm set out to create a store that is incredibly easy and fun to shop, and we think you’ll agree they definitely succeeded. There’s truly something for everyone here.”

Fleet Farm sells a unique mix of high-quality, value-priced merchandise and services for active, outdoor, suburban and farm communities. Customers can find fishing, hunting and outdoor products, auto parts, farm and pet supplies, home improvement and household goods, clothing and footwear, toys and food, plus services like gas, car wash and auto repair.

Lloyd became a preferred developer with Wisconsin-based Fleet Farm last year, helping develop and build multiple stores as the retailer prepares for a big growth spurt. A Lloyd-constructed Fleet Farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is planning to open this fall and a third store will likely start next year.

“We have a great relationship with them. We’re very happy to be part of their growth,” Quasney said.
