Shopping For Strength

Shopping For Strength

Our Communities

Lloyd Companies is teaming up with local businesses to help the victims of last week’s downtown building collapse.

On Dec. 9 and 10, in conjunction with the rescheduled First Friday events from Downtown Sioux Falls Inc., Lloyd Companies has coordinated an effort called Shopping for Strength. It will match a portion of sales from the shops along streets closed because of the emergency and donate those funds to the family of the victim.

“This is a tragedy for families in our city and for our downtown community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them all,” said Mary Lloyd-Huber of Lloyd Companies “We want to do our part to help these families heal and to help our fellow downtown businesses regain momentum. We thought Shopping for Strength was a way to accomplish both.”

A portion of sales will be matched by generous donations from Active Spine; Avera Health; Click Rain; Ernst Capital Group; First National Bank; Hagen, Wilka & Archer; Houwman Companies; Howalt+McDowell Insurance; Liberty National Bank; Lloyd Companies; Meta Bank; Sanford Health; The Everist Company; Washington Square; and Waterbury Plumbing & Heating. Portions of sales to be matched will be from all DTSF member companies.
