Lloyd Hospitality Welcomes New General Manager Ginger Sickels

Lloyd Hospitality is excited to welcome new team member Ginger Sickels, who serves as the General Manager of Hilton Garden Inn Cedar Rapids, Iowa!

Hospitality Background

Ginger joins the Lloyd team with more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She started customer service while in high school working as a gas station attendant/stocker. After graduation, she started her career working at hotels.

Her background is well versed having worked for six different hotel franchises, including Hilton, in the past. Because of this and her positive attitude, she is ready to build a successful team, manage a new franchise and create an outstanding guest experience at the new hotel.

Ginger knows a great client experience starts with building the right team.

“Everyone must work together in order to create a great experience for our guests,” Ginger says. “It is truly an extension of our own family.”

She looks forward to extending this special bond to future hotel guests as well.

“Cedar Rapids has worked very hard since the flooding to rebuild a far better destination for our visitors,” said Ginger.

There are many destinations for everyone to visit in Cedar Rapids, and Ginger is excited to help guests have the best experience at both the hotel and in the Cedar Rapids community.

Shopping: The Newbo Market located in the Bohemia district is housed with multiple locally owned businesses ranging from coffee shops to homemade soaps and lotions.

Museums: National Czech & Slovak, African American Museum of Iowa, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Brucemore Mansion and more.

Entertainment: The historical downtown district with the restored Paramount Theatre and local performing arts, the Theatre Cedar Rapids, and if humor is more your thing, Penguins Comedy Club features Open Mic and on the weekends, big-name comedians.

Sports: The Veterans Memorial Stadium which is home to the Cedar Rapids Kernels Minor League Baseball team and Cedar Rapids Roughriders Hockey team, there is also a professional indoor football team, The Cedar Rapids River Kings.

Outdoors: the Indian Creek Nature Center, Bever Park where you can feed animals or golf a few rounds at one of the 4 golf courses.

Personal Passions

Outside of work, Ginger enjoys fishing, watching football, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

This July, Ginger and her husband, Dave, are taking the entire family of 13 to Lake of the Ozarks.  After several months of being apart due to COVID-19, they want to spend some quality time together to make memories. This is the first of many family trips to come.
