Lloyd Companies Honored With United Way Business Of The Year Award

Lloyd Companies is honored to announce being recognized with a Business of the Year Award from the Sioux Empire United Way.

According to the United Way, this award is “given to the company or organization that has greatly benefited United Way through its generosity and/or its employees’ involvement.”

We’ve always been big believers in the mission of the Sioux Empire United Way and the organizations it supports.

“We brought a lot of determination and energy to this year’s campaign,” Chief of Staff Becky Word said. “Led by Marcia Schmitz and Marley Hanson, our United Way committee got to work early, brought a lot of new ideas, and it showed.”

This year’s United Way campaign at Lloyd included virtual materials designed to grab attention and provide information and outline goals and incentives.

We had some fun while providing regular communication to keep employees up-to-date on campaign progress including bringing in a giant Plinko game.

“It definitely paid off, as our participation increased more than 35 percent and our overall giving increased by 25 percent,” Word said. “We’re really proud of the extra effort and support our team showed this year, especially because the assistance provided by United Way is needed more than ever.”

Lloyd sends a big thanks to United Way for recognizing its efforts and to the fellow Business of the Year recipients, Plains Commerce Bank and Sioux Falls Ford. We’re grateful to be part of such a caring community!
