Lloyd Companies Announces Partnership To Bring Affordable Housing To Rapid City

Projects

A partnership between Lloyd Companies and The Club For Boys is set to bring new, needed affordable housing to the Rapid City community.

Heartland Heights Apartments will be located on Degeest Drive in the Elk Vale neighborhood, offering 41 apartment homes ranging from one to three bedrooms.

Heartland Heights is possible thanks to tax credits awarded by the South Dakota Housing Development Authority.

The project will offer residents upscale amenities in their apartment homes, including washers and dryers and a security system. They also will enjoy a community room and playground, plus easy access to services from The Club for Boys thanks to bussing to schools the program serves.

The Club for Boys has a long history of helping boys reach their full potential through programming which includes a safe place for physical activity, guidance and learning new skills.

Club member families who qualify, based on income, will directly benefit from Heartland Heights. Household income limits will be within 30 to 60 percent of the median income in Rapid City.

The community will help provide basic housing so families can focus on finding a job, paying bills and supporting their children. Lloyd will build and manage Heartland Heights.

“This is a fantastic partnership, and we’re honored to bring this new project to Rapid City,” said Luke Neely, Regional Development Director for Lloyd Companies.

“Heartland Heights is about so much more than a place to live – it’s a complete, supportive community that will benefit many families from the day it opens.”

Construction will start this spring so new residents can move in by the summer of 2022.
