Building Boom: Lloyd Breaks Ground On New Apartments Citywide
It doesn’t matter what side of Sioux Falls you live or work – or even if you’re just outside Sioux Falls – chances are Lloyd Companies is working on a new apartment community near you.

The Silos at Ellis Crossing

This modern community will significantly add to an already-growing southwest Sioux Falls neighborhood.
The first phase of construction has started which will bring 72 traditional-style one, two and three-bedroom apartments and 30 townhome-style apartments to 41st Street and Ellis Road.
The community will start leasing in the spring and residents can move in mid-summer.
“We see tremendous potential in this area of Sioux Falls, as Ellis Road has been improved and the neighborhood is filled with services people need and want,” said Jake Quasney, Lloyd’s Executive Vice President of Development.
“You’re right next to Tea’s Frontier Elementary School, close to the Sanford Wellness Center as well as a fantastic acute care center and orthopedic clinic, and shopping couldn’t be more convenient with Lewis Drug next door and a new Fareway and Dollar Tree opening soon.”
Residents at The Silos will love the community pool, dog park, playground, fitness center and community room.
There will be about 350 apartments when it’s complete, along with about 40,000 square feet of commercial space, which means more neighborhood shopping and dining opportunities will likely be on the way.
Lux North
You’ve probably heard about all of the excitement coming to northwest Sioux Falls, so who wouldn’t want to live in a brand new home nearby?
Whether you’re a future Amazon team member, a Jefferson High School family or a student at the USD Community College for Sioux Falls, Lux North could be your new home.
Located west of Career Avenue at 34th Street, this 216 apartment complex will offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Residents will unwind and get to know each other at the clubhouse, pool, playground, fitness center and dog park.
“We’ve seen historically high occupancy in northwest Sioux Falls, and over the next several years we expect steady and significant growth as the city expands in this direction,” Quasney said.
“With this community, you’ll live close to a huge concentration of education, including the new Jefferson High School but also the USD Community College, Southeast Tech and New Tech High School. Add to that all of the job growth we expect at Foundation Park, in addition to what Amazon is bringing, and it’s a great location for new housing.”
The first residents are expected to be able to move in starting in 2021.
Sawyer Pointe
Enjoy the smaller community feel of Harrisburg with easy access to Sioux Falls when you move into the second phase of Sawyer Pointe.
This popular community is adding 144 more one, two and three-bedroom apartments along Tom Sawyer Trail and the future Huckleberry Trail.
“We’ve seen a lot of success in our first phase at Sawyer Pointe, which started two years ago,” Quasney said. “Residents love being right next to Harrisburg’s Freedom Elementary School and across the street from the city’s dog park. And the recent expansion of Minnesota Avenue, which will connect right to Tom Sawyer Trail, makes it incredibly easy to travel to and from Sioux Falls.”
The new phase of Sawyer Pointe will welcome residents in 2021 with additional amenities including a clubhouse, fitness center and pool.
