Craig Lloyd Named Winner Of Chamber’s Spirit Of DeWald Award

Lloyd Companies Co-Founder and Board Chairman Craig Lloyd has been named the winner of a signature award from the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Lloyd was honored on October 20 as this year’s winner of the Spirit of DeWald award, named after longtime business and community leader Bernie DeWald and recognizing someone who goes above and beyond for the Chamber and the community.

“He never wants to take credit for what’s going on within his company, which is really helping build our city,” DeWald said in a video introducing the award. “He’s just an incredible individual.”

DeWald and Chamber president Jeff Griffin surprised Lloyd at his office to tell him about the award.

“This is amazing. This is a huge, huge honor,” Craig Lloyd said. “I can’t believe it.”

Craig and his wife, Pat, founded Lloyd Companies in 1972. Today the company is headquartered in Sioux Falls and serves communities throughout the Midwest with development, real estate, construction, property management, hospitality and apartment services.

“We congratulate Craig on this well-deserved honor,” Lloyd Companies CEO Chris Thorkelson said. “He absolutely exemplifies the community spirit this award recognizes.”
