Craig And Pat Lloyd Honored With ‘Heart Of The City’ Award
Congratulations to Lloyd Companies founders Craig and Pat Lloyd, winners of the 2023 Heart of the City award from Experience Sioux Falls.
The award is given in recognition of those who have made a significant contribution to the visitor industry through inspiration, spirit, and excellent leadership.
“Everything about Craig and Pat exemplifies this. They’re dreamers, they’re visionaries, developers, creators, leaders, partners. That’s why they were awarded this,” said Teri Schmidt, CEO of Experience Sioux Falls.
“The bottom line is they are the heart and soul of this community. They care about it so deeply and it shows in everything they do, not only in business but in their personal lives. It radiates from them, and they are so humble and kind. Everywhere you go, you see a part of these people and what they’ve built and what they’ve given back.”
The Lloyds shared this year’s award with co-honoree and fellow Sioux Falls developer Jeff Scherschligt. It was presented May 9 at the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration.
“We’re incredibly honored by the award and equally grateful for the work Experience Sioux Falls does to attract countless visitors to our city and show them an unforgettable experience once they arrive,” Craig Lloyd said.
“We congratulate our friend, Jeff, as well and are thankful to live in a community where people passionately invest to keep making this a better place for residents and visitors alike.”
Craig and Pat Lloyd founded Lloyd Cos. in 1972. Craig continues to serve as board chairman.
