Apartment Complex To Break Ground in Rapid City

Projects , Our Communities

The first phase of a 168-unit apartment complex developed, built and managed by Lloyd Companies in Rapid City will start construction this year. Located on the south side of the city near Catron Boulevard and Highway 16, the community is designed to be accessible to a broad range of residents.

“This is a first impression for us in Rapid City, so we definitely want to show the community what we’re all about at Lloyd, and we want a top-notch amenity experience with competitive rents,” O’Brien said. “We’ll have a large ‘wow’ factor with our clubhouse and make it a place where people want to bring their friends and family and show it off.”

The project, which hasn’t been named yet, will include a mix of one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments.

“We plan to offer a variety of nice home options for residents, at a reasonable price,” Lloyd regional manager Drew O’Brien said. “We want this to be welcoming for many household sizes and lifestyles.”

Additional amenities will include an outdoor pool, fire pit, outdoor kitchen and fitness center. Construction on the clubhouse is scheduled to start this summer. The first residents can begin moving in in the spring of 2021.

“This location is amazing,” O’Brien added. “it has an incredible view and visibility. You won’t be able to miss it. Plus it’s easily accessible for those working in health care, at Black Hills Power or quickly commuting downtown or to Ellsworth Air Force Base. You can get anywhere in minutes. It’s a perfect combination.”
