Wildland Fire Facility – Black Hills

Lloyd Construction partnered with the State of South Dakota to deliver two new maintenance shop facilities for South Dakota Wildland Fire in Rapid City and Hot Springs, supporting wildfire response operations across the Black Hills and western South Dakota. After submitting the low bid for both projects, Lloyd Construction worked closely with project architect TSP to value engineer the pole barn-style buildings and keep the projects aligned with the state-approved budget without sacrificing functionality.

Each facility was designed to meet the long-term needs of wildland fire crews, with features including epoxy flooring, maintenance space and upper-level training rooms. Completed on time and on budget, these South Dakota construction projects reflect Lloyd Construction’s expertise in public sector construction, cost-effective design solutions and durable commercial buildings that serve essential state operations for decades to come.
