Hill City Ambulance

Lloyd Construction was chosen through a competitive bidding process to build the new 5,000-square-foot ambulance facility consisting of the ambulance bay, living quarters, training rooms, offices, storage and staff rooms. Due to the soil being so silty and compressive, we had to install 75 Rammed Aggregate Piers to support the building walls and floor slabs. These 24-inch diameter shafts were drilled to a depth of the underlying bedrock between 8 feet and 13.5 feet deep by a drill mounted to an excavator. Construction began May 23, 2024, and the completion deadline was April 15, 2025, however, the project is on track to be substantially complete eight weeks early on February 1, 2025.
