From Brandon To Tea, Lloyd Construction Helps Bring Culver’s To Metro Communities
The goal was set: Open Tea’s first Culver’s restaurant in time for the community’s annual celebration, Teapot Days.
“That was the big push,” said Brian Wittmeier, senior project manager for Lloyd Construction. “They were hoping to catch the public as they were traveling through the area.”
As locals and visitors convened on the Lincoln County community in June, the ButterBurgers and custard were waiting. Culver’s opened a week ahead of the multi-day event.
“Lloyd made it happen,” said Chad Pearson, a member of the local Culver’s franchise group.
“The Tea community has welcomed us with visits and positive comments.”
Lloyd Construction was awarded the Culver’s location in late 2025, and construction began in November.
“We gave them an opportunity to bid on the project when we got started due to their past accomplishments,” Pearson said. “They submitted a clean, detailed and concise bid that met our needs.”
Lloyd Construction shared its history with similar projects.
“We’ve done work with national restaurant concepts in the past, including many builds for Starbucks, so we know what it means to work with national vendors,” Wittmeier said.
“With Culver’s, there are vendor partners that work on every location for consistency.”
Because the restaurant company is growing quickly, “planning is key,” he continued. “All locations under construction are working through the same vendors asking for the same material.”
Throughout the build, “the Lloyd team was organized and on top of the project from front to back,” Pearson said. “Their team is experienced and knows how to build a restaurant.”
For the opening in Tea, the Lloyd Construction team got to help celebrate.
“It’s fun for our team, because families could come see the work they’ve done,” Wittmeier said. “My own kids were pretty excited for ice cream and cheeseballs.”
As franchisees, “we are very pleased with the property and community we service,” Pearson said. “We’re thrilled to part of the community and look forward to all the gorwht that will happen in the Tea area.”
When the same franchisees decided to expand to Brandon, Lloyd Construction ahead got the call for the job.
“They did a great job with the Tea restaurant and our plan for the Brandon restaurant was exactly the same, so it just made sense to use Lloyd based on all their work with our vendors and their knowledge as to what Culver’s expects,” Pearson said.
The two properties are identical 4,200-square-foot buildings with about 50 parking stalls and a double drive-thru.
“We were able to get our Culver’s-specific material ordered much sooner on the second location, so that is going to help us eliminate any rush at the end,” Wittmeier said.
The location currently is framed with windows and a roof going in.

“We’re looking to have it ready for them by early next year and are on track to make that happen,” Wittmeier said.
“They’ve been good to work with as far as getting us the information we need, so it’s been a good working relationship and I think we’re all happy with how it’s gone.”
Throughout both projects, “the Lloyd team did a great job at doing all that is required to build us the project we needed in order to bring Culver’s to the Tea and Brandon areas,” Pearson said.
“They communicated with all the needed vendors to move along according to plan, and we have had a great working relationship with everyone we have dealt with at Lloyd Construction.”
