Rapid City loves to live in this location, and Lloyd Companies is delivering for new residents. Sedona Flats opened its first building in early 2023 near Catron Boulevard on the south side of Rapid City.

This project brings a fun, Boho-inspired design and will offer a total of 144 apartments.

“The area around 5th and Catron is growing rapidly and in need of new living options,” Lloyd’s Vice President of Development Luke Jessen said. “We’ve seen a fast, positive response to our existing apartments in this area and are excited to offer more.”

Sedona Flats will offer studio through three-bedroom apartments with a nature-inspired, southwest flair.

“Think lots of natural light, modern finishes and open floor plans,” Jessen said.

Additional apartments and amenity spaces will be delivered to the community later this year. Those include a clubhouse with a fitness center and community room, plus an outdoor pool, grill and patio, fire pit, playground and dog park.

Heartland Heights Phase II

Lloyd Companies is proud to partner with the Club for Boys in Rapid City to bring more affordable housing to the community.

The newest phase at Heartland Heights will build on a successful first phase and bring 41 additional apartment options. It’s located on Degeest Drive in the Elk Vale neighborhood, offering apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms.

“This has been an outstanding partnership and is so needed for the community,” Jessen said. “The Club for Boys has a long history of helping boys reach their full potential, so combining access to their services with affordable housing for families is a true win-win.”

Heartland Heights is possible thanks to tax credits awarded by the South Dakota Housing Development Authority.

The Union (Box Elder)

 A new addition to the exciting Liberty Plaza neighborhood in Box Elder, The Union will bring 229 apartments to support this booming community.

“This project is located right across the street from the new Liberty Center, which will serve as the community center for Ellsworth Air Force Base,” Jessen said. “We see the opportunity here to create a very complete lifestyle, with access to amenities in both locations.”

The Union will include two four-story buildings with studio through 3-bedroom apartments, on eight acres.

“The broader development is envisioned to include single-family and townhome residential options, commercial uses and plans for a Children’s Museum,” Jessen said.

The Union is on track to open its first apartments this fall, with its next building delivering in 2024.
