Lloyd Companies Pushes Sioux Falls to New Permit Record

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The city of Sioux Falls has reached a new building permit record with the help of Lloyd Companies. On December 19th, Lloyd Companies obtained a permit valued at $17 million for The Bluffs at Willow Run project on Willow Run Golf Course. This permit pushed Sioux Falls past $600 million in permits issued for 2014. The previous permit record in Sioux Falls was $588 million set in 2013.
The Bluffs at Willow Run apartments are part of a 300-acre development at Willow Run Golf Course that Lloyd Companies has entered into with Tom Walsh of GreatLife Malaska Golf & Fitness. The project includes a new club house, fitness center, restaurant, and bar. It is expected that the first phase of the project will be completed in August of 2015. “This project is unique to the Sioux Falls market, and will provide a new type of living that we think people will enjoy,” said Chris Thorkelson, Chief Operating Officer at Lloyd Companies. The apartment complex will feature 161 apartment units which will be pre-renting beginning in early 2015.
Wade Behm, VP of Construction at Lloyd Companies said, “We are proud of the work we have done in Sioux Falls. $600 million is something that the entire city should take pride in; we’re honored to have contributed to the new record and eclipsing the $600 million milestone.” Lloyd Companies, in conjunction with the staff of the Sioux Falls City Building Permits and Inspection office as well as the Engineering Department, contributed over $47 million to the $600 million record.
